Carla came to the Snead Eye Group 7 years ago. Like many people- she had neglected going to the eye doctor for many years. However, she knew it was time to come in for a visit when her vision started getting foggier.

She walked into my office, and that’s when she told me about her eye problems. She was worried that she wasn’t going to be able to take care of herself or her family. So that’s when I told her about our “Continuum of Care” practice.

One day a few years ago- she came in for one of her regular eye exams. It’s a good thing she came into the office. Because when one of our doctors looked into her pupil- we noticed signs of cataracts.

So immediately – she ordered a “Slit Lamp Examination” a test which allows a doctor to view your cornea, iris, and lens under intense magnification to find abnormalities. The test showed that Carla had an early case of Cataracts. Now, cataracts take time to progress- but if they’re left untreated, cataracts can lead to blindness.

So it’s a good thing we caught the cataracts early… and removing them was simple- our doctor performed the “LenSx Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery.” And after a short recovery- Carla was left feeling (and seeing) better than ever!
