, Dr. Klaus Freeland, Snead Eye GroupDr Klaus Freeland is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, offering a wealth of experience in cataract and refractive surgery, and a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Dr. Freeland completed his undergraduate studies in Agricultural Science at Ohio State University. After receiving his Medical Degree from the University of Florida School of Medicine, Dr Freeland completed his Internship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC, and his Ophthalmology Residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Bethesda.
His vast experience in the United States Army includes service at the Irwin Army Community Hospital as Chief of Ophthalmology Services where he acted as primary surgeon and officer in charge of a military comprehensive ophthalmology clinic and warfighter refractive eye surgery center. Dr. Freeland utilizes the latest techniques while performing cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery, and laser vision correction, including LASIK. He holds numerous certifications demonstrating vast training on the most state-of-the-art equipment available for laser vision correction and glaucoma surgery.
Dr Freeland has authored numerous publications and conducted researchon various eye conditions, including how they relate to other diseases such as Parkinson’s. He also serves as a volunteer at the Hospital Loma de Luz in Balfate, Honduras, where he provides cataract, glaucoma and pterygium surgery to those in need.
In his spare time, Dr. Freeland enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid athlete and former Varsity track and field, cross country member of the Ohio State University team.
