Eye Lesion Removal

healthy eyelids during exercise

SNEADEYE GROUP can help you by surgically removing lesions from your eyes whether they are benign or malignant.

There are many types of eye lesion removal that is requiring surgical procedure. Eye lesions may gradually increase in size, taking many years before they reach a noticeable size. Most lesions cause surface irritation, resulting in constant redness and discomfort. People who suffer from eye lesions should have the lesion evaluated by SNEADEYE GROUP to determine the best treatment depending on the type of lesion and its cause.

Pinguecula – pinguecula eye disease

Small lesions that typically have a yellowish tint and grow on the white of the eye (also known as the sclera). These raised bumps do not have cancerous qualities, and typically do not interfere with vision. Exposure to the harsh Southwest Florida sunshine may increase the risk of acquiring this type of lesion. As the size of the inguecula increases surface irritation may occur. As a temporary relief ver-the-counter artificial tears may help improve comfort.

Pterygium – Pterygium surfers eye surgery

A pterygium starts growing on the white of the eye (also known as the sclera), slowly spreading onto the cornea (the clear front of of the eye). Growths often have a triangular shape with a flesh-like appearance. As with pinguecula, exposure to severe sunlight can increase the risk of a pterygium. The pterygium may cause redness and irritation. Artificial tears may help with minor symptoms. Extended growth may eventually interfere with vision increasing the need for surgery.

Conjunctival Nevus – nevus surgery and removal

Also appears on the white of the eye. A conjunctival nevus typically has a dark color, or may appear clear and slightly raised. In many cases, the nevus will reach a certain size and then stop growing. However, if a nevus continues to grow, SNEADEYE GROUP can perform a biopsy of the lesion to determine if it has cancerous qualities. Most nevi are benign, but some are malignant, meaning that an early evaluation and diagnosis is vital.
